Antonov An-225 Mriya – it is the largest plane ever built and it is a wonder of human technology

There is only one Antonov An-225 built, EVER. A second airframe was partially built but was never completed because lack of funding and interest, this one was put in a storage hangar in 1994 as it was too expensive to fly. The six engines were removed and was being used in smaller models. In 2000, the plane was re-engined and put back to service

The 640 ton plane is powered by six Ivchenko Progress D-18T engines which give the plane a combined maximum thrust of 140,580 kilogram-force. In 2000, it was decided that the need for another An-225 became apparent and Antonov Airlines started finishing the second one after it was stored since 1991, There were obvious delays for financial reasons and various problems. they still haven’t finished it but hope to do so in the future, just for the fun of it, the cost of building such a plane is estimated at $300 million and it will be able to hold 250 tons of cargo
