A Federal High Court in Lagos has asked the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to suspend all actions on the move to extradite the Ogun East Senator-elect, Prince Buruji Kashamu, to the United States to face trial on alleged drug-trafficking offences. The presiding judge, Justice Ibrahim Buba, while adjourning hearing in all pending applications on the subject matter till June 19, said on Thursday that status quo must be maintained till all the applications were decided one way or the other.  Pending before Buba is the committal suit filed by Kashamu against the Attorney General of the Federation and the Chairman of NDLEA, citing them for contempt of court. In response, the NDLEA has filed preliminary objection challenging the jurisdiction of the court to entertain the matter. Two sisters identified as Essiet, 18, and Debby, 20, (not real names) were raped by a gang of six men at Ogundero/ Dahomey street in the Bariga area of Lagos state on Thursday May 28th. According to Punch , the sisters were returning from the hospital when they were accosted by the hoodlums. 4 of the men raped Essiet who was a virgin while two of the hoodlums raped Debby.  While narrating what happened, Essiet said “It happened on May 21 around 11pm. My sister and I went to give food to a family member who had just given birth to a baby in Oworonsoki. We were returning in the night when we saw the men. They had guns, cutlasses and other weapons. They waylaid us and said if we shouted they would kill us. A 24 year old woman identified as Marie Shade Adebayo was shot dead yesterday June 1st by a man believed to be her ex-boyfriend outside a Target store in Milestone Center, Montgomery County, Maryland. Police have arrested 27 year old Donald Wayne Bricker Jr for the murder. According to  NBC Washington , witnesses said they saw Shade and Donald involved in some sort of altercation inside a vehicle prior to the shooting. Shade then got out of the vehicle and Donald followed. Investigators say Donald fired his gun at Shade, striking her. According to police, he then walked up to her and fired again. He then took off in a white Ford Ranger. He was arrested by police an hour later. A gun was recovered at the scene of the crash, police said.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to charge six top officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and 16 others to a Federal High Court on June 2, for a sum of 8b Naira currency fraud. The commission said in a statement signed by its Head of Media & Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, on Sunday that it would bring the executives before the court for their involvement in the theft and re-circulation of defaced and mutilated currencies. The Ondo State Police Command have arrested four students of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, for allegedly gang-raping a female student of the institution. Vanguard gathered that the victim is a girlfriend of one of the suspects. The suspects, according to a police source, are student in the Department of Business Education in the institution. Police source said the victim, who is on admission in a private hospital, was raped at a residence in Oka area of the town until she became unconscious. It was gathered that the suspects, who have made confessional statements, were picked up after the report was lodged at the police station in Ondo town. Reports had it that the victim who resides outside the campus, was invited by her girlfriend and together they went to visit another friend. A young woman, Funmilayo Adeyanju, in a fit of anger hacked her three years old son to death on Children Day, throwing neighbours at the Ogunso area of Otta, Ado-Odo/Otta local government area of Ogun State into shock and mourning. Adeyanju was said to have returned from somewhere and had barely rested for about 30minutes when she picked up a kitchen knife and attacked the boy. She allegedly pinned her son called Emmanuel to ground and savagely stabbed him in the chest, abdomen, head and other parts of the body, leaving him to die in a pool of his blood around 4pm on Wednesday. 20-year-old aspiring football player from Afikpo North, Ebonyi State, Jacob pictured above has been arrested by the Lagos state Police command for killing a mechanic, Moruf Sanni by stabbing him to death over an arguement regarding age difference at Iwaya,Yaba on Monday May 25th. According to reports, the victim, Moruf had an argument and a fight with someone in his area simply identified as 'Somebody', over who was older on Sunday May 24th. The fight was  then settled by the elders in the area. Angered by Moruf's claim that he was older and was not going to give him respect, 'Somebody' contacted his friend, Jacob to teach Moruf a lesson. Jacob accosted the deceased in his compound and didn't teach him a lesson but stabbed him repeatedly on the neck and head and killed him. A mobile policeman in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, allegedly shot a 34-year-old Adamu Mohammed, over an argument of N2,000 unpaid fees for a menial job. According to Mohammed’s family, the victim was shot last Tuesday by the mobile policeman after an argument with a woman who hired him to clear a portion of land close to her home at Erepa Road and dumped at the Federal Medical Centre. Residents who claimed to have witnessed the incident, said the shooting took place after an argument ensued with the woman over the amount to pay for the job and Mohammed’s squabble with a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, officer. They said the policeman shot him in the thigh to demobilise him. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency says embattled Senator elect, Buruji Kashamu is now under house arrest until he appears in court on Monday May 25th when legal proceedings for his extradition to the US for drug related charges will commence. "The Agency has commenced extradition procedures against Senator-elect, Buruji Kashamu, in line with the laws of country. He has been in contact with his attorneys and will appear in court on Monday,” Ahmadu Giade, NDLEA’s Chairman said in a statement released this evening. Meanwhile the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Adoke Mohammed this afternoon said the US had officially requested for the extradition of Buruji from Nigeria to the US. The Minister said the siege laid at Mr Buruji's house by NDLEA officials today is in accordance with the laws of the land.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police, Osiele Police Post, Abeokuta, Ogun State, John Mafoya has been arrested and is being interrogated  at the state police command headquarters for allegedly raping a student of the Federal College of Education, Osiele, identified simply as Oluwaseun. A young 15 year old girl in Malaysia was gang raped by 38 Muslim men, with each man taking turns for several hours in an abandoned hut. Police have arrested 15 men and are looking for the remaining ones as the investigation is going under way. Media accounts, quoting information from District Police Chief, Azham Otham, said 38 men were involved. The Nigerian Army have arrested a fake soldier and a suspected member of Boko Haram sect, identified as Aliyu Hussaini (pictured above). According to the Army, Aliyu is an Impostor who has been parading himself as a Brigadier General in the Nigerian Army and was fraudulently collecting money from people. A statement by the Nigerian Army says Aliyu Hussaini is a sponsor and also a member of the Boko Haram Terrorist organisation. He was arrested alongside an accomplice, one Ibrahim Mohammed who is also known as Yuram. The two suspects were arrested at New GRA behind the Deputy Governor’s House in Bauchi Metropolis, and the following items were recovered from them: two Nokia, a Samsung hand set and a Techno handset, one MTN sim card and a Peugeot 406 vehicle with registration number AU 222 BWR (Abuja).

Four men have been arrested by police in Malawi for allegedly kidnapping and murdering an albino man, Symon Mukota. Police say the suspects kidnapped Symon Mukota from his village, killed and removed his bones to be sold for witchcraft. His remains were however buried in a riverbed by this wicked men. According to police spokesperson, the four men were arrested on murder charges following a tip-off after they failed to find a market for the bones. He said that, ”the four suspects were found with bones believed to be those of an albino who have gone missing”.

The murder charges against 15-year-old Wasila Tasi'u, the child bride who poisoned and killed her 35-year-old husband, Umar Sani, and four others, was dropped by prosecutors at a high court in Kano today Wednesday May 20th. Lamido Abba Soron-Dinki, a Prosecutor in the case filed against her, asked the presiding judge at the High Court in Gezawa, Kano state, to 'terminate the case of culpable homicide against Wasila Tasi’u'. "With a heavy heart, I apply that the accused be discharged.” he said Legal sources in Kano said the court had been under serious pressure from human rights groups and the international community to drop the case since she had been married against her will at age 14. Prosecutors had been seeking the death penalty for Wasila.

A senior Islamic State leader, Abu Sayyaf , has reportedly been killed by the U.S. special operations forces during a raid in eastern Syria , the Pentagon and White House said on Saturday, May 16. It was reported that Sayyaf directed the group's oil, gas and financial operations. The terrorist’s wife, Umm Sayyaf , was said to have been captured in the raid. "During the course of the operation, Abu Sayyaf was killed when he engaged U.S. forces," White House National Security Council spokeswoman Bernadette Meehan said in a statement She said the operation was authorised by President Barrack Obama with the full consent of Iraqi authorities.
