US Places N1.4bn bounty on Boko Haram leader’s head
In a newly issued Most Wanted list, the United States has maintained the $7 million (N1.4 billion) bounty it placed onAbubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram.
Boko Haram Leader Abubakar Shekau has been included in the list of 71 most-wanted terrorists in the world that US released on Wednesday, May 6, 2015.
A huge sum of money, about $375m (N74.6bn) has been placed for any one with information that will lead to the terrorist's arrest or conviction.
The highest money was placed of ($25 million) is placed on Ayman al-Zawahiri, who has been suspected to be the physician to the late leader of Al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden.
Four other islamic State terrorists were also mentioned on the list with a total of $20 million bounty on them.
The list also includes senior members of the Islamic State Group (ISIS), Al-Qaeda, Al-Shabaab and two female members of a Turkish military/political party and the terrorist group, Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party/Front.
Efforts by The Nigerian Army proved abortive since the ransacked the sambisa forest and there was no trace of Shekau..
